I have taught graduate and undergraduate courses in theories of personality and the history of psychology at Long Island University and Baruch College. At LIU, I gave a series of lectures on integrating cognitive and behavioral interventions into psychodynamic therapy.
I have been a clinical supervisor at NYU and LIU, and I welcome supervisees in my practice. Please contact me for details.
My research has been focused in two areas. One area is the issues surrounding young adulthood (or what has recently come to be known as "emerging adulthood"). The other is psychological mindedness, which is the ability to meaningfully reflect on emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. These two are a natural pairing, and my dissertation brought them together in the study of how psychological mindedness developes in emerging adults - something I try to foster every day in my practice.
